ABOUT THE SOURCE ALLIANCE 10 STEP PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

At Source Alliance, we are project accelerators. If you have never undertaken the development of a major capital project, it can be comparable to climbing Mount Everest for the first time – without a guide! It is not recommended.

Clients come to us at different stages of project development. Some call upon us for help after several years of unsuccessful attempts while others come to us for assistance at the very early stages of project development. Our goal is to provide strategic council and technical expertise to help you get from point A to point B as fast as possible.

We believe that every project is unique and the circumstances under which a project comes to fruition are also unique. As a result of the unique character of every project there is no one cookie cutting process to get a project from conception to completion and that is where project development craftsmanship comes into play.

Our Process

1. Securing Total Organizational Support

It is absolutely critical that the project sponsor’s board and administration are fully engaged at making the project one of their highest priorities. From this strong and common commitment will come a compelling vision.

2. Clarity of Vision and Case for Support

Clarity of vision is critical to get diverse stakeholders onboard whether they are end-users, community leaders, philanthropists or political allies. Source Alliance is specialized in helping you articulate a compelling Case for Support for your project. Your Case for Support will be designed to make your project real in the eyes of stakeholders. It will allow you to assemble high-level leadership which is so critical to moving your project forward. The case for support is also the main tool around which the fundraising will be based.

3. Measuring Feasibility

Some clients have a need to validate the concept they are putting forward before they go into full implementation. Measuring feasibility can be useful to identify potential leaders, potential sources of funding and to help development a sound vision and Case for Support.

4. Project Management

Typically, organizations have senior managers and staff who are very busy running the core business of the organization. Considering the exceptional and long-haul nature of major project development cycles, often, managers are already overloaded with work. The task of managing the development of a significant capital project is something that requires the full attention of a senior manager with experience in project development craftmanship. Source Alliance is in a position to play that role within your organization – working in tight collaboration with your board and the key players at the senior administration level.

We strongly believe that first money from the private sector is the ultimate test for the feasibility of any community project. Fundraising methodology is one of our key areas of expertise.

Government funding is an essential part of most major capital projects as it typically adds up to from 40% to 90% of funding required to properly fund projects. Understanding government programs and the processes of government is key to accessing public funds.
